You need to quickly understand where the emergency is, where the normal deviation is, which area was serviced yesterday and who is responsible for the action. The names must be clear to the person on the spot. box_2_temp is worse than "Box 2 - air - center" if the interface is visible to several people. But in technical integrations, stable slug names are useful. The main thing is to maintain the connection between the physical place and the device.
Priorities on the panel
In the overall dashboard, crashes and outdated data should be the first thing to appear, not pretty graphs. If the leak sensor is triggered in box 3, this is more important than the average humidity in box 1. If the temperature sensor has not been updated for two hours, the ventilation rule may not be reliable.

Zone comparison
The benefits of multiple boxes come when you can compare. Why does one zone consume more water? Why is the nighttime humidity higher in the other? Why do plants respond differently after the same feeding? To do this, the data must be collected in the same way: one type of metrics, similar intervals, a common activity log.
